Who we are: Saving Family Headstones at Karrakatta

In May 2017, Carolyn Trigwell founded the Saving Family Headstones at Karrakatta (SFH@K) Facebook group. Eight years on, we now have more than 6,500 members and continue to mount an active campaign against the redevelopment program at Karrakatta Cemetery — also known as “Cemetery Renewal”.

In addition to the private group, we have a public Facebook page on which we regularly share information and updates.

    As well as joining our Facebook group, you can help our campaign by doing some of these things:

    Update your details for family graves

    It is crucial that you lodge your contact details and request specific information for all family graves. The MCB is responsible for all public cemeteries in Perth, including Karrakatta, Fremantle, Pinnaroo, Guildford, Midland, Rockingham and Gnangara Aboriginal Cemetery.     If you have loved ones buried in cemeteries outside of Perth, please get in contact with their management, which is usually the local council.
